Heritage launch our first eco-home
Heritage have been working closely with Merebrook, one of the UK’s most desirable residential locations, to create a home that features a host of environmentally friendly features.
The new home, called the Heritage Serenity, incorporates sheep’s wool insulation which is less energy consuming to produce. It is harmless, durable and recyclable, while still performing favourably against other more traditional insulations.
Triple glazed windows with e-glass give excellent heat retaining values and a highly efficient six zone wet underfloor heating incorporates a Worcester Bosch solar panel pre heat system with large heat storage tank creating state of the art energy management.
Low energy lighting is fitted where applicable and all appliances are A or A+ rated. A super efficient gas condensing boiler is fitted for household hot water needs. The house has 9 electric velux windows with blinds to manage solar heating whilst providing top lighting.
Heritage Homes director, Christine Williams explained: “When we were approached by Merebrook to help with the project it came at a just the right moment. Heritage as a company were as concerned as Merebrook about the environment and what effect we have on it. We were already looking at ways in which we could reduce our impact. So it was very encouraging to see that our customers felt the same.”
“It will be very interesting to seeing how the market responds and it would be good to see these technologies start to make their way into the standard build of our homes until they become commonplace throughout the industry. Only then do we feel we can say we have helped to have a positive effect on the environment” She added.
Park owner, Adrian Daley said, “We have created an idyllic, secure location at Merebrook, where residents feel safe and can enjoy the natural beauty of a carefully protected living environment. We are delighted to have worked with Heritage Homes on this exciting project.”
Due to its riverside location, the home also features a floatation system, and this was of great interest to ITV news in Nottingham who ran a piece one the home on our launch day. Along with all of the other features of the home, there was plenty of interest and plenty to talk about, making the launch a great success.
