Heritage build our Park homes to the current British standards (BS3632).
The following are some of the main specifications for Heritage’s range. As we produce the majority of our homes to each customer’s unique requirements, it would be impossible to list all of the options available. Please don’t forget to check our Environmental section for some alternative specifications to these traditional building materials.
- For homes with flat ceilings, 18mm treated chipboard ceilings and floors create a very rigid, strong construction. This is actually timber frame construction and can easily be adapted to comply with current Building Regulations. We also build many of our homes with vaulted ceilings, where the ceiling is either decorated in a conventional manner or clad with pine ceiling boards.
- Hand-crafted construction using only quality timber products for skirting, architrave, door casings and doors.
- Full insulation on all of our models, consisting of 4” in the floors, 2” Dritherm in the walls and 6” in the ceilings. This means the home has comparable insulation efficiency to a conventional “bricks & mortar” house. The option is also available for the alternative Sheep Wool Insulation.
- All models come with uPVC double glazed windows as standard, white, mahogany or cherrywood. Triple glazed windows are also available for even better thermal efficiency.
- Gas Central Heating models come with individually adjustable thermostatic valves on all radiators.
- Walls are approximately 4” (100mm) thick, comprising of 3/8” (9mm) ply to both sides of 3” timber stud. On stipple finished homes; externally 3/8” (9mm) plywood is glued and fixed to studs and stipple is applied to the plywood. For log clad homes; a layer of breather paper is sandwiched between the studding and the exterior 25mm log effect cladding.
- The roof consists of steel roofing tiles with a mineral coating to the outside giving an aesthetic finish to the unit.
- We have, for some time, been using timber in both the construction and cladding of our homes which is supplied from sustainable sources.
- The average build time for a unit is three to four weeks from start to completion and approximately two days to site and connect the home.
But quality of build alone is not enough, the homes have to look desirable. With the current trend toward interior design, Heritage have adapted to the market with contemporary interiors fitted out for maximum comfort and convenience.
The same theory goes to the exterior of the home. Heritage has been experimenting with new materials on the market. Our customers are always on the lookout for the next new thing. So it is part of our job to be there ahead of the game. Products such as uPVC cladding have gone out of favour to be replaced with more aesthetic products such as stipple, log cladding (Cedar or pine) and new products such as Canexel - processed Cedar fibre boards coated with an environmentally safe water-based formula.
The visual impact of the home is also something we are constantly working to develop. Plans are on the table for a new wave of designs, which will help to lift the standing of the company. We are keen to start working on a wave of elite designer homes. While still working on the same basic principle of construction, and working with the knowledge and experience we have gained so that we can achieve a superior product within the restrictions of the build process. While we will always see a market for our current product range, which are by no means run-of-the-mill, we aim to take the company further still and appeal to the most exacting of requirements by our customers.
